
A Manitowoc Lincoln High School senior has received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Garrett Holsen is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as president of his class the last two years.
Holsen says he’s been told it’s equivalent to a $400,000 scholarship.
He tells SeehaferNews.com he was nominated to receive an appointment to the service academy by both Congressman Glen Grothman & Senator Tammy Baldwin and learned he was accepted last week.
Holsen said he is “beyond humbled” to be able to attend the prestigious school.
Garrett, the son of Marc Holsen & Sara DeWitt of Manitowoc, would like to be a pilot in his career and has been taking flying lessons at the local airport.
Before departing for Annapolis & a five year commitment Holsen and his classmates will graduate from Lincoln High School on July 18th.
Garrett’s extracurricular activities for the Shipbuilders included football, golf and baseball.
