The City of Manitowoc will be resuming their Street Sweeping Parking Ban on June 1st.
Anyone parked on the street the evening their street is scheduled to be swept will be issued warning tickets from now through the end of the month.
A map showing when each street is scheduled to be swept can be found at Manitowoc.org.
Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski stated in a news release, “It is also important to remember that sweeping grass clippings into the street is not only bad for our local lakes, creeks and rivers; it is also a violation of city ordinance. Grass along with other organic materials that are washed into the storm drain system, end up in our local water bodies. These materials decompose and release phosphorous into the water.”
