Altoona Police Department’s K9 Program Receives Donation

The Altoona Police Department now has more money for its K-9 program. The Scheel’s on Golf Road presented the department with a four thousand dollar check Friday. An official says the store conducted an annual fundraiser and chose the program to receive this year’s money. The funds will be used to add a K-9 officer to the department. The K9’s handler will travel to New Mexico in March to meet and train the new officer.
