Milwaukee County Seeking Re-Trial After Former Inmate Was Awarded $7M

The boyfriend of a former inmate at the Milwaukee County Jail is changing his story and the county is asking for a retrial. The inmate was awarded almost seven-million dollars when she claimed she was sexually assaulted while she was pregnant and behind bars. She claimed she had to give birth while she was wearing shackles. Ivan Boyd said he and the woman made up the rape allegation to get money. He said he asked a jail guard to bring his girlfriend food, but no sexual contact occurred. The woman’s attorney says Boyd is making false claims. The guard was never convicted. The attorney says Milwaukee County is victimizing the woman again.
