U-S House Speaker Paul Ryan of Janesville promises to get the money that Puerto Rico needs to recover from Hurricane Maria. Ryan toured the island in a helicopter and met with local officials and personnel from FEMA (fee’muh). Ryan told reporters it was a “humanitarian disaster” — and while he helped secure 36-point-five billion dollars this week for all of this summer’s major hurricanes, Ryan said he would work with Puerto Rican officials and President Donald Trump’s administration for a longer term aid package. Ninety-percent of Puerto Rico is still without power, weeks after the storm went through — and it’s blamed for at least 45 deaths. Trump, meanwhile, changed his tune Friday and vowed he will “always be with” Puerto Rico after insinuating Thursday that the U-S territory was to blame for money woes.
