The CEO of Felician Village/St. Mary’s Home in Manitowoc says the Safer at Home Policy during COVID-19 has been a “significant adjustment for their residents.” Frank Soltys says that it has limited the residents’ normal activities in terms of moving around and congregating. But, he added..”they really seem to be doing well in managing that (situation).”
“Now, we have more than just a nursing facility we also have independent living and assisted living. So, they as well are isolating in their homes. Whether that’s an apartment or a duplex home.” Soltys said there’s also a limit on visitors during the pandemic. “We’re asking visitors in independent living, if they’re ill of course not to come in and visit. We’re asking individual family members to communicate otherwise whether that be on the phone or through video chat.”
The administrator said they’re trying to limit the exposure that is important in trying to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Soltys added, “residents have been very understanding about the gravity of the situation.”
