Just shy of one year after the tragic events at the Appleton Transit Center which resulted in a firefighter losing his life, the brave man will be immortalized.
The Appleton City Council approved a motion to rename a park by Fire Station Six after Mitch Lundgaard.
Lundgaard was shot and killed while responding to a medical call at the transit station on May 15th, 2019.
The seven-acre plot of land next to the fire station where Lundgaard served his community for 14 years, will now be known as Lundgaard Park.
