The COVID-19 pandemic has caused Sheboygan’s County’s largest employer to close down part of their operation.
The Kohler Company has decided to cease operations in their cast iron foundry and ceramics divisions, citing market demands as part of the cause.
This shutdown is only temporary as the company, and the rest of the world, wait for things to return to some sense of normalcy.
One report indicates that the closure will only last until May 18th for the ceramics division, and the cast iron foundry should reopen within a week.
This news isn’t exactly shocking to the workers, as their union representative reports that the workers had been putting in reduced hours in the past several weeks.
