
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced Friday that the Mishicot School District is the recipient of a $22,200 state grant to expand their “fab lab” Facilities.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Orlich says this will equip students with essential Skills for the 21st century’s global economy.
Orlich adds “This grant along with local funds will allow us to significantly expand our current fab lab through the addition of multiple 3D printers, A third laser engraver and a CNC (computer numerical control) router.”
WEDC ‘s Fab Labs Grants Program is designed to support hands-on learning in STEM classes (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by assisting public school districts with equipment purchases such as 3D printers, laser engravers, computer numerical control routers, and plasma cutters for instructional and educational purposes.
It will also benefit Wisconsin employers to find workers with the right skills to allow their companies to grow and thrive in these high-demand fields.
Mishicot is one of 31 school districts in the state awarded a total of $693,200 in Fab Lab Grants this year.
