A former NASCAR champion is coming out of retirement to replace fired driver Kyle Larson.
Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth will compete for Chip Ganassi Racing. Larson was dumped after using a racial slur while competing in a virtual race two weeks ago.
The team announced Monday Kenseth will be taking over the Number-42 Chevrolet.
Kenseth is one of only five drivers to win a Cup Series championship, a NASCAR Rookie of the Year award and the Daytona 500. The other four are in the Hall of Fame
