The 46-year-old kitchen worker at the Columbia Correction Institution accused of helping two men escape says she was coerced.
Holly Marie Zimdahl made an initial appearance in Columbia County District Court Tuesday.
She’s charged with escape, criminal arrest, and delivering illegal articles to an inmate.
Zimdahl told investigators she had been receiving notes threatening her and her daughter with sexual assault. The daughter is a prison guard at C-C-I.
45-year-old Thomas E. Deering and 36-year-old James Robert Newman became the first inmates to ever escape the facility last Thursday.
They were recaptured shortly after escaping.
