It still isn’t clear what role a prison cook played in the escape of two inmates who were later captured in Illinois. Forty-six-year-old Holly Zimdah from Pardeeville was arrested last week. She was taken into custody shortly after James Newman and Thomas Deering got free Thursday morning at the Columbia Correction Institution. Investigators say the men climbed two fences and ran to a waiting car which drove them away. They were picked up in Rockford when they tried to get a meal at a soup kitchen.
