The new owner of Central Bark Doggy Day Care in Manitowoc says they’ve had to make some changes in operation following Governor Evers’ Safer at Home order which went into effect on March 24th.
Erik Olson became the new owner of the business at 1910 Mirro Drive at the end of January.
Olson said they’re operating on reduced hours, although Central Bark is doing relatively close to the same amount of business. He explains they do boarding of dogs from one to multiple nights while offering day care services as needed. He added the biggest change for them is they’re not doing grooming services.
The Governor’s order deemed pet grooming as non-essential, while giving approval to doggy day care operations. Olson said the decision means a loss in revenue of about 5 appointments per day, yet they maintain 4 to 5 employees at a time, out of their total staffing of 11 employees.
He added that some of those workers have elected to stay home during the quarantine. The business owner told us that he’s excited for the future once this pandemic is over.
