Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels is encouraging churches celebrating Easter to ring their church bells (or similar devices) Sunday at noon for ten minutes. The Mayor also encourages citizens to step outside of their homes and ring bells or chimes and wave to their neighbors.
In his proclamation, Nickels states that more than ever our faith communities need to show unity while their parishioners are isolated. He adds that the message of Easter is important to remember during this worldwide pandemic. As Christ rose “we too shall rise from these difficult days hopefully as better citizens-neighbors-friends and human beings.”
The Lincoln High School Tower will play music from Noon to 12:25 Easter Sunday consisting of traditional hymns, alma mater and America the Beautiful.
WOMT Radio 1240 AM will participate and unite as one with our community.
