The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled Governor Tony Evers doesn’t have the authority to move the state’s spring election.
That means voters who are going to cast their ballots in-person will do so today (Tuesday).
The high court’s ruling came on a four-to-two vote. Evers had worried about large groups of voters at polling locations – especially in Milwaukee where 180 locations have been narrowed to just five polling centers.
Milwaukee County has been the Wisconsin county hardest-hit county by the coronavirus pandemic.
Republicans called the governor’s executive order an unconstitutional overreach.
