The Milwaukee Brewers should be celebrating their 50th anniversary this season, but play remains suspended due to the coronavirus.
On April 1st, 1970 the American League approved the sale of the Seattle Pilots to former Braves owner Bud Selig.
The team moved to Wisconsin and six days later the Milwaukee Brewers played on Opening Day.
Selig is credited with building the franchise in one week.
Milwaukee County Stadium was their home ballpark until 2000 before the opening of Miller Park.
The Brewers are planning a number of special events this season including 50th anniversary decade weekends, giveaways and bobbleheads.
