Two former Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys basketball standouts have received post-season recognition in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Kiel’s Carter Voelker of UW-Platteville was selected co-player of the year in the WIAC and a first-team all-league pick.
A 4-year starter for the Pioneers, Carter helped his team to a 23-and-5 record and a first place finish in the WIAC regular season.
In addition, Voelker was named to the D-3hoops.com All-Central Region First Team and a 3rd team All-American choice.
Valders High School graduate, Kyle Tuma, a teammate of Voelker’s at Platteville, made his mark in just his 2nd season for the Pioneers.
Tuma has started 56-games and has seen his offensive production nearly double from 5.9 points to 10.8 a game his sophomore year.
Kyle was a Peter Brookshaw buzzer-beater away from bringing the Vikings to their first ever state championship in boys basketball during his senior year.
This season, Tuma was an Honorable Mention selection in the WIAC.
