Former Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey captain Claudia Kepler is back home after playing professionally in the Far East.
The Verona native says her team, the Vanke Rays of the Russia Women’s Hockey League, was about to play in Hong Kong just before the Chinese New Year.
That’s when the players heard about coronavirus.
They stayed in St. Petersburg, Russia for six weeks while wrapping up the league championship.
Now, Kepler is back home in the Madison suburb.
