If you’ve seen any City of Sheboygan Police officers looking around your vehicle, it’s because they are conducting what they call “vehicle courtesy checks”. In select neighborhoods throughout the city this weekend, officers will be checking cars parked on the street to ensure that vehicles are locked and that valuables are not present in vehicles.
Unlocked vehicles that contain valuables such as keys, electronics, and money are an attractive target for criminals. The Sheboygan Police Department asks citizens to lock vehicles and remove any valuable items to protect yourself from becoming the victim of a crime.
