After 64 years in office, a veteran Democratic state senator has decided he won’t file for re-election.
92-year-old Fred A. Risser of Madison announced his decision Thursday.
Risser is the longest-serving state or national legislator in U-S history.
He is also the last World War Two veteran who is still serving in public office nationwide.
