The “Letters For Tomorrow” Time Capsule Project for the City of Manitowoc’s 150th anniversary has been extended until further notice. The current disruption from COVID-19 allows for the Manitowoc County Historical Society to collect our community’s personal stories related to the current global pandemic to add to the museum’s archives.
You can share your story through a “Letter for Tomorrow” or a writing shared with the museum. Some questions to consider include:
How has the current pandemic affected your daily life? How do you feel about the change?
Did your personal relationships or family routines change as part of the practice of staying home?
Are there activities that you will not be able to do during this time? Do you miss your activities?
Did you or someone you know get sick with COVID-19?
What medical treatment was needed?
Write a letter. Draw a picture. Share your story. All ages are welcome to add to the time capsule and help share your current experience with future generations. They will be interested to learn about what is currently taking place. This will be history and you can help us share our story!
