The Big East Conference Player of the Year will be on the court when Marquette meets Seton Hall in Madison Square Garden tonight (Thursday) – it just won’t be Markus Howard.
The nation’s leading scorer has been edged out for the honor by Seton Hall senior Myles Powell, according to a Wednesday announcement.
Howard was conference Player of the Year last season and he’s still in the running for many other post-season awards after scoring almost 28 points-a-game for the Golden Eagles.
Powell’s chances for the honor got a big boost when his Pirates claimed a share of the conference regular-season title.
