Nine small businesses in Wisconsin, including one in De Pere, will receive matching grants to commercialize their innovations.
The grants are coming from the federal Small Business Innovation Research Advance Program and are separated into two phases. Those in Phase I will receive $75,000 each, while Phase II recipients will get $100,000.
CompRex out of De Pere is in the Phase II category, and will use the money to develop an advanced heat exchanger for use in aerospace applications while reducing the size and cost of the exchanger.
Since 2014, 105 awards have been given, equaling nearly $8.2 million, to 18 communities throughout the state.
