The Marquette Golden Eagles are the only Big East team to reach the quarterfinals of the conference tournament every season since they joined.
Marquette is seeded sixth in the tournament which starts this week with a first game Thursday night at 8:30 P-M.
The Golden Eagles and Xavier both finished 8-and-10 in Big East competition, but the Wisconsin school swept the season series and claimed the tie-breaker advantage.
