The Marquette Golden Eagles are ending the current basketball season very much like they did the last one.
When DePaul claimed a tight 69-68 Big East Conference decision Tuesday it was Marquette’s fifth loss in the last six games.
The Blue Demons hit 31-of-35 free throws and had half as many turnovers as Marquette (18-11, 8-9 Big East). High-scoring Markus Howard was the only Eagle to scoring in double figures with 29 points, but he missed 13-of-20 floor shots.
Marquette ends the regular season on the road at Madison Square Garden Saturday with a final conference game against St. John’s.
