Sheboygan authorities have identified the victim of a fatal fire on Monday.
44-year-old Russell Doxtator III died at a local hospital after being found on the second floor of a residence that was on fire in the 400 block of Michigan Avenue.
Two other occupants were able to evacuate the structure without injury, and several animals were able to be rescued as well.
The blaze caused an estimated $70,000 in damage, but the cause has not yet been determined.
Sheboygan Fire Battalion Chief Michael Lubbert issued a statement that reminds citizens to make sure their fire alarms are functional.
