Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski has released the identity of a male subject whose body was found after a structure fire early last Friday.
71-year Stephen Voelker of Kewaunee was found about 11:30am Friday at N1939 Wochos Road in the Township of Franklin.
Deputies found the single family dwelling fully engulfed in flames and based on information received, it was believed there was one occupant in the home at the time of the fire. Voelker’s body was located in the ruins by investigators about 10-and-a-half hours after the initial call.
Fire departments from Tisch Mills, Carlton and Denmark responded to the scene. Sheriff Joski stated the incident remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Fire Marshall.
