Motorists in Manitowoc will have to find a new route to work and school today as the Waldo Boulevard construction project is scheduled to begin.
The project will shut down the major thoroughfare from N 14th Street to Rapids Road for the complete reconstruction of the roadway, sidewalks, and median, as well as the replacement of the deck on the bridge over the railroad tracks.
Construction will also consist of a new box culvert near Fleetwood Drive and asphalt overlay from County R to near Fleetwood Drive.
The $12.3 million project is expected to last through November.
