The television voice of the Milwaukee Brewers has dodged a major health scare.
Nine-and-a-half weeks ago Bill Schroeder was on the operating table at Froedtert Hospital for nearly 12 hours. He had found out a couple of days before Christmas that he had an aortal aneurysm that was about to burst, a defective heart valve and a 60 percent blockage in a major artery.
The big health scare means the 61-year-old announcer will be cutting back on his schedule this summer. He says he never knew he had a heart problem until the doctor told him – he just felt tired all the time.
Schroeder has been broadcasting Brewers T-V games for 26 seasons.
