The Roncalli Girls Basketball team played an opening round home game in the WIAA Division 4 tournament against the Sevastopol Pioneers.
Brian Norton was on hand, calling the game on AM 980 WCUB, and reports that the Jets won that first round matchup 61-42.
Norton said that a tough defense against the young Pioneer team helped secure the first round victory. The Jets were led by Genna Schramm’s 12 points, while Abby Stelzer added 11, and Maya Lusk accounted for 10.
Emma Stoober for the Pioneers led all scores with 20 points.
Roncalli is now preparing to travel to 4th seeded Oostburg on Friday.
