Wisconsin Badgers tight end Luke Benzschawel has announced his decision to end his football career after several knee surgeries.
Benzschawel started eight games for the Badgers and played in 15 during his career. He was primarily a blocker for the running game and he excelled in that capacity.
He announced on Twitter he will be medically retiring from football after a fourth surgery.
His uncle, father and older brother all suited up for the Badgers and a younger brother is a member of the school’s 2021 recruiting class.
