The Milwaukee Brewers have their final workout today before Saturday’s Cactus League opener at the Texas Rangers.
The players will have another live batting practice at American Family Fields of Phoenix.
The team and fans are excited to see new outfielder Avisail Garcia in the Brewers lineup. Lorenzo Cain predicts six-foot-four, 250-pound Garcia will hit “a bunch of homers” this season. Garcia hit .282 with 30 home runs and 72 R-B-Is for Tampa Bay in 2019.
Josh Lindblom is scheduled to start the first spring training game tomorrow against the Rangers.
The Brewers have also announced their plan to open a new dining location at Miller Park on March 6th. The “restaurant to be named later” is located in the left-field corner and will be open year-round for lunch and dinner.
The team says it will offer Molson Coors beers, a full-service bar and a menu that includes the Double Play Burger and the River Walk Paloma cocktail. The restaurant has a variety of ticket packages and views from outdoor tables on the Run Porch and the Bullpen Porch.
The recently updated Brew Room can accommodate larger groups of 30 to 60 people.
Brewers legend Bob Uecker is involved with naming the restaurant.
Milwaukee’s home opener is March 26th against the Cubs.
