A 20-year-old Sheboygan man will likely face jailtime for the sexual assault of a minor charges he was convicted of but will find out for sure today.
At the time of the crime, Fernando Escalera was 18, and his victim was 14. He was found guilty of Felony Assault of a Child and could spend as many as 40 years in prison.
Escalera could also be sentenced for a second sexual assault of a child case which also took place in 2020.
Judge Kent Hoffmann will be on the bench for the sentencing hearing this morning.
