The Manitowoc Lutheran Girls Basketball team traveled to Hilbert for a Big East Conference matchup against the Hilbert Wolves Last night. Brian Norton reports that the Lancers pulled out a 44-31 win.
A big reason for the double-digit win was due to the defensive play by Sophomore Monraye Ermis, who achieved a rare defensive double double, blocking 11 shots, and pulling down 11 rebounds. Ermis had to leave the game late in the second half with what Norton reported as an “apparent high ankle sprain, putting her future playing status up in the air.”
Offensively, the Lancers were led by Paigge Zirbel and Jenna Lischka, who each contributed 8 points. Hilbert got 13 points of offense from Meghan Propson, and Laney Halbach.
The Lancers improve to 8-13 overall and 8-9 in the Big East, while Hilbert falls to 6-13, and 4-12 in conference.
