It may have only been released a few months ago, but Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig says the public has really embraced the P3 app, which allows citizens to anonymously report crimes.
Since its implementation in November of 2019, people have used the P3 app to give public safety workers 73 tips, which is a huge jump from the 100 that were reported all of last year through the old system.
Hartwig is very happy citizens have taken so well to the new technology and believes its simplicity and the ability for investigators to communicate with the tipsters in real-time, has contributed to its effectiveness.
While this app is a great tool, Hartwig reminds citizens that if there is an emergency or a crime in action, citizens should still call 911, as it is the quickest way to get Police, Fire or EMS personnel out the door.
P3 can be found in the Apple Store, or Google play by searching P3TIPS.
