The City of Manitowoc has announced their pick to be the Manager of the Farmers Market for the 2020 season.
Lauren Philippsen is a vendor at the market selling dog treats, and the owner of Henry’s Handcrafted will now run the Farmers Market.
In a news release, Mayor Justin Nickels said that he and Community Development Director Adam Tegen “feel her personality will be a great fit at the market, especially since she already has a rapport with the vendors being down there all last season.”
The position became vacant in late January after Amber Daugs of Grow It Forward decided not to renew their contract so she could “expand the organization’s headquarters as a local food community center”.
