Officials with the University of Wisconsin-Madison athletic department estimate next year’s budget to be about $186 million due to three major capital projects.
If so, that would be an 18 percent increase from this year’s budget.
Improvements would be made to the Kohl Center, Camp Randall Stadium and the U-W Fieldhouse, with work scheduled to start soon.
The spending plan is being sent to the U-W Athletic Board which meets one week from today (Thursday). That group will make the final decision.
