Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is seeking a federal emergency declaration for three counties in the southeastern part of the state.
That region suffered an estimated 10 million dollars’ damage in last month’s winter storms.
Federal funding would cover losses in Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties. Damage was done by big waves and flooding along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
State officials say 30 million dollars in damage was done, but FEMA inspectors determined only one-third of it met the threshold for federal funding.
