The Eagles hit 21-of-27 free throws, while Butler was seven-of-eight.
Markus Howard led a balanced attack with 17 points, while Koby McEwen and Brendan Bailey added 16 apiece.
Marquette (17-6, 7-4 Big East) put the game out of reach with a little over six minutes left by connecting on three straight 3-pointers to take a 62-45 lead.
The Eagles still have two more ranked opponents on the schedule in the next eight days, starting with a trip to Villanova Wednesday.
