A 24 year old Manitowoc man was arrested last night after he was found to be in possession of an illegally obtained prescription.
The Manitowoc Police Department was informed that the man, who had a warrant out for his arrest, was seen at West Field Bar, so an officer went to that location.
By the time they arrived, the suspect was not there, but he was seen traveling in a vehicle driven by a female at the intersection of South 18th and Washington Streets.
The vehicle was pulled over, and the officers noticed that the man appeared to be under the influence of opiates.
The suspect admitted to taking drugs earlier in the day, and was taken into custody.
A search of a backpack belonging to the suspect uncovered two bottles of Naloxone, which is used to impede the effects of an opioid overdose, as well as two Clonidine Hydrochloride pills. These pills require a prescription, which the suspect did not have.
The suspect is now facing four felony counts and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping, as well as possessing Drug Paraphernalia, and an Illegally Obtained Prescription with a Drug Repeater tag.
