The Manitowoc man who was responsible for an explosion at his parent’s home was sentenced.
36-year-old Victor Cota will spend two years in prison after being convicted on two counts of second degree reckless endangerment.
Following the explosion, a number of chemicals, and explosives were found, which lead to Cota’s arrest.
Officials state that the amount of explosives found in the home would have demolished the structure, and would likely have killed everyone inside.
Cota said that he was planning on using the chemicals to make fireworks.
He was originally arrested on 13 different charges, however all but the two counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of possession of explosives for unlawful purpose, and one count of possession of improvised explosives were dismissed but read in for sentencing.
