It hasn’t been that long since infielder Jedd Gyorko hit 30 home runs for the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Brewers are hoping a little bit of that power still lurks in his bat after signing him to a one-year, $2 million contract, with an option for 2021.
Gyorko is expected to platoon at third base with Eric Sogard.
Wrist and back injuries limited him to just 101 plate appearances and a .174 batting average last year.
The plus-defender had an O-P-S approaching .800 for the Cardinals in the three seasons between 2016 and 2018.
