
A bipartisan proposal on dangerous P-F-A-S chemicals includes a provision to give the Wisconsin D-N-R up to three years to put emergency rules place.
The D-N-R typically implements emergency rules for 150 days with a maximum of two renewals of 60 days each. .
The bill from Representative John Nygren and Senator Dave Hansen would allow the emergency rules for groundwater to remain in effect up to three years or until a permanent rule is in place.
Governor Tony Evers said he was glad to see Democrats and Republicans work together on this pressing issue and would sign it into law.
