A Madison East High School teacher is facing seven federal charges for attempting to produce child pornography with hidden cameras. The U-S Attorney’s Office says 37-year-old David Krutchen was indicted Wednesday and arrested this morning at his home in Cottage Grove. Krutchen is accused of using hidden recording devices to tape children on October 27th, 2019 and January 20th. The investigation was triggered by the discovery of hidden cameras planted in the Minneapolis hotel room of students he was chaperoning on a business club trip in December. Krutchen was placed on leave after the students found the cameras. He could face 15 to 30 years in prison on each of the seven counts if convicted.
