A Columbia County judge has ordered a Friesland man to spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his wife.
55-year-old Kevin Krueger had entered a guilty plea last year to a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
The victim was killed at a Portage motel in February 2016.
Krueger initially claimed he had a mental illness.
The judge ruled at sentencing Wednesday that he can apply for extended supervision after spending 16 years in prison.
