A 36-year-old Beloit man has been arrested after his stepson brought a loaded gun to his elementary school Tuesday.
Police were called to Todd Elementary School after a teacher spotted the weapon in a backpack and confiscated it.
The child is too young to be charged. His stepfather, Brian Walker, was arrested on suspicion of leaving a loaded firearm within reach or easy access of a child.
Tentative charges have been referred to the Rock County district attorney’s office.
The school district says the student won’t be in class for the foreseeable future.
