The U.S. Census Bureau has reached half of its recruiting goal in Wisconsin, but still needs more than 24,500 people to apply for Census Taker positions throughout the state, and they are bringing their recruiters to Manitowoc.
Census takers will be hired to work in their own communities in order to go door-to-door to collect responses from those who do not respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone or by mail.
There are a multitude of census recruiting events scheduled throughout Eastern Wisconsin, including one at the Manitowoc Public Library tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
There are also three recruiting events taking place in Sheboygan.
The first will be tomorrow at the Sheboygan County Job Center from 2:00-4:00 PM, while the second will be on Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Mead Public Library.
The third will be on Friday at the Elite Barbershop on Erie Avenue from 4:00-5:00 PM.
