The founder of Seehafer Broadcasting in Manitowoc will be remembered at a visitation and funeral service later today.
Don Seehafer died last Tuesday at the age of 84.
During a special segment of Open Mike on 1240 AM WOMT Friday morning listeners expressed their sympathy and gratefulness.
Many people called in, offering their condolences, and telling stories about Mr. Seehafer, including one woman who recalled one moment of his incredible kindness.
She recalled “The younger generation of his family was doing their knock off version of American Idol at the Capitol Civic Center. He asked if we were going to see it the next week, and I said ‘No.’ We didn’t have tickets. He thought a second and said, ‘Come over to the house tomorrow afternoon. I’ll have some tickets for you.’”
Relatives and friends may call today at First Lutheran Church, 502 N. 8th Street, from 11am until 1:45pm, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 o’clock.
