Milwaukee County officials say they will send an emergency declaration of need to the state today (Friday) after a weekend storm surge which caused an estimated $10.6 million damage.
Emergency managers say it will cost $1.5 million to repair issues at the Port of Milwaukee alone.
Crews have been assessing the damages for the last six days, finding potholes in parking lots which were two feet deep in some cases.
The county thinks it will qualify for both state and federal disaster assistance.
