Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul says 26 people are charged with trafficking large amounts of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl between Puerto Rico and Milwaukee. Twenty-two suspects were arrested Wednesday following searches that resulted in the seizure of 15 kilograms of coke, 50 grams of heroin, 80 grams of crack, 35 firearms and 267-thousand dollars cash. “Operation Island Hopper” began in 2018 after the U-S Postal Service intercepted a package. A separate investigation dubbed “Operation Tire Iron” led to 11 arrests for conspiracy to distribute heroin and fentanyl in the Milwaukee area. Police recovered 800 grams of black tar heroin and 200 grams of fentanyl. One of the defendants was an undocumented Mexican citizen.
